Straw Hat kicked off the new season on November 1st and things have been going great so far! A few new menu items and some new faces have brought some great comments and lots of happy customers in the first weeks of the season! By all accounts, the new Tuna Flatbread has become the biggest star of the new menus and Chef Nick Dellinger has come up with some incredible and creative specials each and every night! This past week the Almond Gazpacho with Homemade Celery Sorbet was a big hit and the Sauteed Whelks in a Jar appetizer sells out every time he offers it!
The Meads Bay Omelette with fresh, local crayfish and lobster has become a big favorite for breakfast and the Ahi Tuna Bahn Mi Sandwich is a big star at lunchtime. As always, we receive fresh fish every day from many different fishermen who we have been working with for years ensuring that our nightly specials are made with the freshest ingredients available. Our brand new garden is producing many of the herbs and vegetables we are using to compliment our dishes.
This season has also seen the introduction of the Straw Hat Cocktail Menu which features some of our Straw Hat Classics like the Ti Punch and the Kool Me Off as well as some new additions like the Meads Bay Blue and the Sweet Tea-Tini! We continue to have live reggae music every Friday night with Kinayah and have added the amazing Sprocka on Wednesday nights!
The busy Christmas season is about to arrive and Anguilla will once again be full of visitors! We’re looking forward to seeing all of our friends once again. We wish everyone peace, love and happiness for the holiday season and for the new year! We hope to see you soon in Anguilla!
